DUBAI, UAE / MENA Newswire / – Emirates has launched Comprehensive Travel Cover, a paid travel insurance product that expands protection for passengers facing medical, baggage and trip disruption risks. The Dubai airline said the product became available on June 17. Emirates described it as the first airline travel cover of its kind at this level. The policy includes trip cancellation cover, baggage delay or loss compensation, unlimited medical expense cover and emergency evacuation cover worldwide.

The new Emirates travel insurance can be bought on emirates.com at the time of booking. c with existing bookings can add it through Manage Booking, subject to market availability and policy terms. Emirates said the product carries an accessible premium. Coverage and availability may vary by country. The offer applies in listed markets across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, North America and New Zealand.

A central feature is added protection for conflict-related medical incidents. Emirates said the conflict cover reimburses medical expenses of up to US$25,000 and includes a free trip extension of up to 30 days. The airline said the cover does not depend on government travel advice. The product also includes support for customers affected by disruption during their journey, including events that affect airspace or flight operations.

    Expanded cover for disruption

Emirates said it will arrange hotel accommodation during certain disruptions, including airspace closures. The airline classifies this as a service, not as an insurance benefit. It also said it will support extended stays when disruption affects travel plans. The package adds to existing customer options, including free date changes for tickets booked from April 2 and a free 24-hour fare hold option.

The airline also said it will rebook disrupted customers to their destination at no extra cost when Emirates flights are unavailable. That support can include rebooking on other airlines. Emirates said the same support can apply when itineraries include connections on other carriers and flights face conflict-related cancellations. The policy is supported by Travel Guard, which works with Emirates on the expanded insurance product.

    Markets and customer access

Comprehensive Travel Cover is available in Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary and Ireland. Emirates also listed Italy, Kuwait, Malta, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. Customers must review local availability, benefits and exclusions before purchase because policy terms can differ by market.

The launch adds a broader insurance option for Emirates passengers planning international travel through Dubai or across the airline’s global network. Emirates serves travelers across major long-haul routes and operates from Dubai as its main hub. The new cover combines insurance benefits with airline-managed disruption support. It gives customers one channel to buy travel cover during booking or after booking through the airline’s website.
